Biography

Edward is a post-doctoral researcher at The Alan Turing Institute working in the Project Bluebird team. His project focuses on developing methods to assess air traffic control scenario complexity using geometric learning. Edward has a PhD in Cancer Sciences from The University of Manchester, where he researched the use of deep learning methods for segmentation and registration of 3D medical images to improve current radiotherapy practice. In this research, he developed techniques to leverage small datasets for anatomical structure segmentation and multiple methods that combine multi-modal imaging and geometric shape data to identify segmentation errors and more accurately align patient anatomy between medical scans. More recently, Edward has been applying these approaches to investigate the late effects of radiotherapy for children. Edward also has a master's degree in Physics from The University of Manchester with a year studying at the University of California, Santa Barbara.
